
Ariella Lehmann is a PhD student in the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Her PhD project will explore the different avenues through which non-elite Ashkenazi Jews encountered and used the Biblical text outside of the synagogue. She previously studied in the 'Revivim' program for the training of teachers in the instruction of Jewish Studies at Hebrew University, completing a BA in Bible Studies and Jewish Studies. Her MA in Jewish History, also from Hebrew University, focuses on the preparations for Shabbat among medieval Ashkenazi Jews.Ariella teaches history, Bible, Jewish studies, and a general course in humanities at the Israeli Arts and Science Academy middle school in Jerusalem.
