Aviya Doron

Aviya Doron is a PhD candidate in the department of Jewish History at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem under the supervision of Prof. Elisheva Baumgarten. Her research explores risk and trust in Jewish-Christian economic interactions in the German Empire (1280–1420), focusing on how risk was conceptualized, experienced and overcome in interreligious personal contacts, and which institutionalized mechanisms governing economic exchange helped build and sustain trust.

Aviya holds a bachelor's degree from The Jerusalem Academy of Music, and was a classical pianist for over 15 years. In 2017 she received her MA with honours in European Studies from the Hebrew University. As of 2020, she is a fellow in the Azrielli fellows program.
